The wine itself is simply gorgeous as it begins with nearly intoxicating aromatics of cranberries, Asian spices, white truffles, forest floor, wet granite and suggestions of wild blackberry preserves all coming together beautifully. There is a silky elegant quality to the mid-palate, as it displays flavors of black raspberry, black cherry, pomegranate seed, wild mushroom and a hint of cola. Earthy and elegant, this will have an exceedingly long future ahead. Like winemaker Mark Vlossak’s other Pinot Noir releases, this is a thing of beauty, however it requires a fair amount of air contact to fully express itself. (Best 2017-2027) - April, 2017 (OB)
