APERTURE Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County 2020

Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, with small portions of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, the 2020 Aperture Cabernet spends 18 months in 55% new French oak barrels. Boasting a dark glimmering purple core with a bluish rim and glorious notes of black cherries, crushed huckleberries, and toasted sweet baking spice (predominantly clove), with touches of tobacco leaf, fresh spearmint, mocha powder, forest floor, and leather all present but restrained. Crunchy tannins and perfect levels of acidity combine with the medium to full body. It finishes lovely and long with the blue fruit taking center stage. About 2000 cases produced. Another winner from winemaker Jesse Katz. Highly recommended.
