This Pinot Noir comes from the Red Dog Vineyard, which is situated at a high elevation in the northwestern part of the Sonoma Mountains. The vines at Red Dog are exposed to the fog and benefit from the cool air flowing off the Pacific Ocean. The wine itself delivers very aromatic and complex aromas of red berries and fresh floral woven together with loam, smoke, tar and hints of ground coffee. It possesses a lovely fresh character and nicely balanced with all the red fruit and earthy characteristics carrying over on to the finish where it picks up a savory edge. A beautiful wine which should continue to drink well over the course of the next decade. (Best 2015-2025) - February, 2015 (MD)
