Westwood's 2018 Syrah comes from the Annadel Gap Vineyard in the Sonoma Valley. 100% Syrah, it displays aromas of blackberry, toasted clove, violet, cured meat and wild herbs. On the palate this is medium-bodied and elegantly structured, with a bright core laced with flavors of cherries, red currants and spices framed by a lovey combination of acidity and minerality on the finish. This is already transforming into a fantastic domestic Syrah and should become even more compelling as it evolves over the course of the next decade.
