The 2011 Bedrock Heritage Wine comes from vines planted 123 years ago Sonoma Valley. It is a field-blend of 22 different varieties. Dominated by Zinfandel the remaining 40% of the wine is Carignane, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Grand Noir de la Calmette, Syrah, Tempranillo, Trousseau, Mission, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and many others. It brings aromas and flavors of blackberries, cherry cobbler, fresh mineral, smoked meat, licorice and even violets to name a few. Dense and concentrated with polished tannins with a solid finish. This has lots of potential but needs some serious time to flesh out and come together, so patience will be required. (Best 2015-2022) - November, 2012 (JD)
