2013 Top 100 - Rank #46
The 2008 Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino is another fantastic showing from this prestigious estate, offering rustic aromas of dried cherries, plums, damp earth, spices, leather and pretty floral notes providing a beautiful fresh element. This demonstrates remarkable focus and amazing structure; supported by gorgeous fine, silky tannins. The finish is probably the most impressive element of this Brunello, as things firm up and become ultra-long and chewy. Vincenzo Abbruzzese has done an outstanding job with this 2008, but some patience will be required as it will be at its best after a few years of bottle age. (Best 2016-2028) - August, 2013 (JD)
