The 2015 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a fantastic showing, composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc. It begins with inviting aromatics of ripe blackberries, cassis and dark cherries which come together with spices, cinnamon, anise and violets. Full-bodied, and well-structured with lovely underlying acidity which balances it all out. Layers of ripe dark fruits, spices and anise continue to build on the palate and linger beautifully on the finish. While this is already showing plenty of appeal, it will also be a pleasure to watch this beauty evolve in the cellar for years to come. A gorgeous wine from one of Napa Valley's most iconic producers.
