The fantastic Pinot Noir from Gavin Chanin comes from vines planted in 1973 in the Bien Nacido Vineyard. The wine possesses tons of character, with pretty aromas of red berries, pomegranate followed by dark soil, exotic spices and blood orange. This Medium-bodied Pinot continues to impress with its beautiful pure fruits, elegance and remarkable focus. If approaching early on, this requires some time to unwind in the glass, but I believe exercising a bit of patience, and allowing this some additional bottle age to flesh out will ultimately serve best.
