DOMAINE SERENE White Pinot Noir 'Coeur Blanc' 2016

The 2016 'Coer Blanc' looks to be the most impressive example of this white Pinot Noir since it was first made. Domaine Serene sources this wine from a specific block in the Côte Sud Vineyard, which is planted to Pommard clones that offer low yeilds. The Coer Blanc is harvested roughly a week before the traditional Pinot Noir and then the wine is treated similarly to a Chardonnay, whole cluster pressed. The wine shows wonderful citrus aromatics with white peach and toasty oak coming in as well. Silky smooth, this shows remarkable viscosity and tension. The finish to this wine is long and persistent. While this is marvelous right now, this should continue to evolve beautifully.
