The 2015 No Girls La Paciencia Vineyard Syrah is a stunning effort from this challenging vintage, which was plagued by serious heat spikes throughout the course of the year. Elizabeth Bourcier has been making this outstanding bottling since 2011, and the 2015 vintage marks another remarkeble release. It begins with a wonderful complex aromatic profile, which is beyond seductive and consists of green olive tapenade, bacon fat, umami and roasted marcona almonds. The palate shows wonderful elegance, with a silky mouthfeel marked by gorgeous red fruits accompanied by salted meats, as well as a savory seaweed character. The salinity, freshness and mouth-watering acidity is simply outstanding, making it extreamly compelling as a young wine. This is a total knockout, and should have an evolution of a decade, maybe even longer.
