The 2015 Volcanic Hill Cabernet Sauvignon is yet another absolutely brilliant wine from Diamond Creek. Sourced from the 8-acre south-facing vineyard, which is layered with volcanic ash, and the warmest micro-climate on the estate. The wine itself begins with gorgeous fresh aromas of ripe blackberries and black cherries woven together with violets, graphite, cherry pipe tobacco, crushed stones and hints of wild forest herbs all taking shape. This full-bodied Cabernet continues to impress with its plush, layered texture and beautifully polished velvety tannins. Showing remarkable overall balance and structure, combined with incredible length this has the makings for a brilliant future, although it will certainly be hard to resist this beauty early on.
