The 2016 La Source Chardonnay is a total beauty from Evening Land. This Chardonnay comes from old-vine Dijon clones from an area just below Summum, that benefits from ancient lava flow, which left behind iron-rich rocks and pebbles. These mineral components are quite eveident in the wine, as it begins with stunning aromas of Meyer lemon, orchard fruits, seashells, and spring flowers surrounded by sea shells, crushed wet stones and a lovey touch of salinity. On the palate this is equally impressive, possessing a gorgeous creamy texture, which is beautifully balanced. Displaying striking purity and focus, this is one of the finest Chardonnays out there. While it is certainly drinking exceedingly well, there is no reson to believe this won't contine to flourish over the next decade or more.
