EVENING LAND Chardonnay, Seven Springs Vineyard 2016

The Seven Springs Vineyard Chardonnay is another sensational showing from Evening Land in this vintage. The Chardonnay was sourced from a unique section in the south block of Seven Springs and underwent whole cluster pressing before being racked to once-used French barriques and Stockinger puncheons (500L) for fermentation. It then spent 12 months in barrel before being racked to tank, where it spent another 6 months before bottling. The wine itself beigins with lovely aromas of lemon, green apple, asian pear and fresh minerals with hints of honey and white flowers all developing in the glass. On the palate delicious flavors of orchard fruits, citrus connect with wonderful minerality, which persists through the gorgeous finish. This is absolutely delightful today, and should continue to drink beautifully with some additional bottle age.
