Winery Hill is Domaine Serene's highest elevation site for Pinot Noir. The wine was aged for 17 months in 45% new French oak prior to bottling in April 2017. On the nose this takes on light earthy tones, along with peat moss and forest floor connecting with the higher toned citrus rind and red cherry candy aromatics. The range is fabulous, as this shows wonderful tension and viscosity, yet with a soft mouthfeel. Wild blackberry cobbler, peat moss, orange rind and red fruit flavors all combine beautifully in this wonderfully crafted Pinot Noir from winemaker, Michael Fay. While this is drinking marvelously right now, there is little doubting it will cellar exceedingly well for the next fifteen plus years.
