The 2015 Horsepower Vineyards Sur Echalas Vineyard Grenache is a absolutely stunning effort that is one of the best of its kind in the state. It begins with inviting aromatics of fresh red ftuits, white truffle, and peat moss which immediately leap from the glass, followed by a wonderful combination of citrus and earthy undertones that are simply captivating. On the palate shows striking intensity, verve and tension as the range of flavors continue to impress with white truffles, red currant jelly, cranberries, orange zest, peat moss, wet stone and white pepper which all build and presist through the finsih. Overall, this is a simply fascinating Grenache and the gorgeos complex range of flavors make it absolutely impossible resist, even at this early stage.
