The 2016 'Cuvée Susan' Chardonnay Reserve is a stunning release from Tor in this vintage. Sourced from 30-year-old Wente Clones in the Beresini Vineyard, the Reserve is a selection of the best 2 barrels and receives an additional year in barrel, 21 months in total. The wine itself instantly begins with wonderfully expressive, bright aromatics of crisp apple, ripe tropical fruits, honey, tangerine, vanilla blossom, and lots of floral aromas that jump out of the glass. On the palate, this full-bodied Chardonnay possesses wonderful textural richness with a gorgeous velvety texture and wonderful complexity. It continues to impress as it displays fantastic purity, along with beautifully focused and precise flavors through the finish. While this is already absolutely delightful, this Chardonnay also has the potential to evolve, and allowing this just a few years of bottle age should certainly pay off.
