The 2015 Dry Creek Zinfandel from A. Rafanelli is a simply fabulous showing which displays wonderful class and sophistication. It begins with inviting aromas of dark berries, cherries, spices, pepper and an underlying floral note which all develop beautifully in the glass. On the palate this is beautifully structured with big velvety tannins that provide plenty of structure through the finish. While the 2015 is showing some early appeal, it is ultimately a wine which will need plenty of additional bottle age to soften and show its best stuff. Nonetheless, a fascinating bottle of Zinfandel that will provide years of drinking pleasure ahead.
