Composed of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 5% Cinsaut and 5% Mourvèdre the 2016 'Le Traversier' begins with aromas of cherries and raspberries followed by garrigue, licorice, pepper, light spices and stony minerals all taking shape. On the palate this medium-bodied red is elegant and silky, with wonderful finesse. Beautifully balanced with a lovely core of sweet red fruits that expand seamlessly on to the finish. This beautifully refined, classic expression is lovely now, but allow this just a few more years and it will be even more compelling.
