The 2016 Domaine Chante-Perdrix is a wonderful showing, composed of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre with 5% Muscardin. Inviting aromas of raspberries, cherries, garrigue, orange zest, iron and wet stones all develop in the glass. Medium-bodied with velvety tannins and wonderful overall balance of fruit and acidity. It displays lovely minerality along with a fleshy character leading up to the long finish. Shows excellent potential, but readers may want to plan on cellaring this for a few more years.
