The 2016 ‘Les Quartz’ is an absolutely gorgeous wine in this vintage. Composed of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah from sandy soil with round polished stones on the surface, located in "Les Cassanets". The wine was aged in 94% in demi-muids (600L) (2 to 9 wines) and 6% in terracotta amphora (500L) for 14 months. It begins with wonderful inviting aromas of raspberries, cherries and red plums are joined by garrigue, spices, wet stones with hints of orange zest, herbs de Provence and a touch of white pepper. Medium-bodied, ultra-silky and balanced this classy red possesses a gorgeous seamless texture from start to finish. Displaying wonderful freshness as well as outstanding concentration and focus, this refined and sophisticated wine will go on to age gracefully for many years to come. Will need some significant bottle age before it begins to shows its best.
