The 2017 'Les Safres' Blanc is a fastastic blend of 40% Grenache blanc 30% Roussanne 30% Clairette. This utterly fascinating wine instantly impresses as it exhibits a wonderful expression of its terroir. It is beautifuly nuanced by gorgeous aromatics of freshly sliced apples, lime curd, tangerine, wild herbs, honey, crushed stone and flower blossoms all developing seamlessly in the glass. There is a wonderful overall sense of balance and precision across the palate and into the long, simply delicious finish. The 2017 is absolutely sublime upon release, and should continue to drink marvelously with some additional bottle age. One of the finest Blancs I have tasted from the vintage.
