The 2016 'Henri Perges' is a simply phenomenal showing in this vintage. As this slowly unwinds it begins to release aromas of raspberries and cherries, moroccan spices, lavender, herbs and hints of smoldering incense all developing in the glass. On the palate this possesses a medium-plus body with an absolutely seamless texture, along with outstanding overall balance and concentration. It goes on to display a wonderful sense of freshness, with a core of gorgeous ripe red and dark fruits that expand through the long, velvety finish. This already quite appealing in its youth, yet it should continue to evolve and have a brilliant future. 100% Mourvèdre.
