The 2013 'Pian della Vigne' opens with expressive aromas of red cherry, boysenberry, plum, along with dark chocolate, cedar, leather, and dried spice. On the palate this is medium-bodied with soft and round tannins framed by lovely red fruits, tobacco and earthy flavors that presist through the long, elegant finish. This is a fantastic Brunello from Antinori, but it will require at lease a few more years of bottle age to flesh out before it shows its best stuff.
