The 2013 'Cerretalto' Brunello di Montalcino is absolutely magnificent. One of finest wines from the vintage, this displays a stunning combination of elegance, purity, depth and complexity. As this slowly unwinds it begins to seduce with striking aromas of dark berries, black cherries, exotic spices, crushed flowers, graphite, tobacco underlined by a lovely hint of toasted nuances which all come together beautifully. This goes on to impress as it shows both remarkable balance and structure, backed by gorgeous tannins that lead the way to the long finish which is marked by lovely dark fruits, spices and floral nuances. Year after year Cerretalto is one most compelling wines made in all of Italy, and there is no exception in 2013. This is a simply brilliant release that possesses incredible aging potential and should have a tremendous evolution that spans across decades.
