The 2015 Château la Vieille Cure Fronsac is a fabulous wine composed of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. It instantly begins to shine as it bursts open with wonderful aromas of dark currants and dark cherries woven together with earthy loam, tobacco, spices and hints of savory grilled herb nuances. On the palate this possesses a medium-plus to full body, which is backed by a gorgeous polished texture, as well as notable depth and concentration through the plush, expansive finish. While this is incredibly satisfying now, it also has the potential to thrive in the cellar for at least another decade. This is an absolutely astonishing value.
