Sourced from the Oliver Ranch Vineyard in the Alexander Valley which was custom designed by viticulturist Phil Freese to showcase some of one of the best growing sites in the region. The wine itself is composed of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc which was age 22 months in new oak and it is absolutely sensational. Instantly bursting open to aromas of ripe dark currents and black cherries, which are woven together with mocha, baking spices, earthy minerals and hints of crushed violets all soaring from the glass. It possesses a generous full body with a gorgeous plush, opulent texture that seamlessly envelops the palate. This continues to impress a it shows wonderful balance and concentration, yet also has a lovely sense of freshness as it leads up to the long supple finish. While absolutely outstanding today, it should also continue to develop nicely with some bottle age for well over a decade. Another sensational wine from winemaker Jesse Katz in this vintage.
