Another drop-dead gorgeous wine from Jesse Katz in this vintage. Sourced from the SJ Ranch Vineyard, which is situated on some prime real estate at the top of Chalk Hill, directly adjacent to Verité. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised from a mix of Clone 337 and Clone 7 and immediately opens to profound aromas of beautifully ripe black currants, blueberries and black cherries which are woven together with spices, mocha, sweet spices, violets and hints of soil. It continues to thoroughly impress with its wonderful full-bodied richness and plush mouthfeel that beautifully envelops the palate. Dense, layered and concentrated this continues to deliver flavors of ripe dark fruits, spices and dark chocolate that all cascade on to the voluptuous finish. While just about irresistible now, this also has the potential to age gracefully for quite some time.
