The 2016 Sacrashe Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from a selection of the top barrels from the vineyard. It is drop-dead gorgeous in this vintage as the nose is exceedingly dense, unveiling ripe dark fruits, exotic spices with espresso bean, blackberry compote and shades of tar that all mingle brilliantly in the glass. The palate displays a wonderful seamless quality as it glides across effortlessly the mid-palate. It goes on to impress as gorgeous velvety tannins frame the dense core, which is layered with flavors of dark espresso, dusted milk chocolate, creosote, pipe tobacco, black forest cake and sandalwood which all continue to build as it heads in to the long expansive finish. While the 2016 flirts with perfection and is nothing short of outstanding today, this downright delicious and hedonistic wine will have a long future ahead and should evolve beautifully for many years to come.
