LAURENT GAUTHIER Morgon, Vielles Vignes 'Grand Cras' 2017

Laurent Gauthier's Morgon Vielles Vignes 'Grand Cras' comes from 70-year-old vines grown in volcanic and granite soils. As this begins to open, it becomes very expressive, with aromas of dark cherries, red currant and red berries and dried loam all taking shape. On the palate this is well balanced with nicely integrated silky tannins leading into the delicious finish. This Morgon will be accessible right out of the gate, and should continue develop even further complexities with additional time in the bottle.
