The 2016 Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is a drop-dead gorgeous showing from Cliff Lede in this vintage. This Cabernet is sourced from low-yielding vineyards with volcanic ash and gravelly loam soils in the Diamond Mountain appellation, nestled in the Mayacamas Range. It instantly bursts open with seductive aromas of dark currants, creme de cassis, pencil lead, fresh sage, spices, mocha and dusty minerals all come together beautifully. Full-bodied, rich and structured, this goes on to impress its outstanding depth, concentration and plush texture that is backed by a juicy core of ripe dark fruits, graphite and exotic spices that persist through the long polished finish. This is an absolutely sensational wine that impresses right out of the gate, however it should also go on to evolve for many years to come.
