The Bockstein vineyard is located in a side valley of Saar and forms a natural south to southwest facing amphitheatre above the village of Ockfen. Dr. Fischer owns 2.5 hectares of these steep sloping, 40-years-old vines. A fantastic showing in 2018, the Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Kabinett begins with wonderful aromatics of fresh sliced apples, white florals, minerals that instantly emerge from the glass. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous viscous texture with is underlined by a lovely touch of acidity that lead up to the luscious finish. While this is nothing short of delicious today, it should also evolve beautifully over the course of the next decade.
