The 2015 Rocche is drop-dead gorgeous wine from Vietti. Sourced from the single vineyard Rocche in Castiglione Falletto, this Barolo spent approximately 30-months in Slovenian oak casks. It impresses with striking aromatics of fresh berries, flowers, licorice, herbs, spices along with hints of fresh black truffles and mineral nuances. On the palate this is just as impressive, as it displays remarkable purity and class, with outstanding overall structure and balance. This displays a gorgeous silky texture that firms up nicely on the long, precise finish. While this will need some time, the sky is the limit for Rocche, as it should age brilliantly for many years to come. At the moment, Rocche seems to be the most impressive wine in this sensational lineup from Luca Currado and it should definitely not be missed.
