The 2017 Clos du Caillou ‘La Reserve’ is simply gorgeous. Composed of 55% Grenache and 45% Mourvèdre, from vines nearly 70-years-old in the sandy soil located on the lieu-dit of La Guigasse’ and Pignan. As this slowly begins to unwind, it releases stunning aromatics of raspberries, red plums, spices, florals, wet stones, herbs, spices. On the palate this possesses a wonderful medium to full body, which is beautifully structured. It goes on to impress with it concentrated core of sweet red and dark berries that continue to resonate through the finish. While the Reserve is already absolutely brilliant, this is built to last and will age beautifully for many years to come.
