VINCENT GIRARDIN Puligny-Montrachet 'Vieilles Vignes 2017

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 'Vieilles Vignes from Vincent Girardin comes from 65-years-old vines in the north part of the village planted on poor soils of clay and limestone. This displays a gorgeous mineral character throughout, with crushed stones and flint, which join the fresh lemon and floral nuances. On the palate this possesses outstanding precision and balance, as it goes on to display wonderful minerality and gorgeous acidity that elegantly frames the finish. This is a beautiful Puligny-Montrachet that should last more that a decade, but today it is still a bit reserved and will need some time before it hits it stride.
