The 2015 Primer Paso begins with beautiful aromatics of blueberries, raspberries and wild cherries, followed by exotic spices, leather, white pepper and violet. The palate offers a medium-plus body, with a plush velvety texture leading up to the lingering finish. This is delicious today, and shows its best with some air contact, however it will ultimately hit its stride with a few more years of bottle age and could offer a drinking window a decade beyond that. 2015 is the first vintage the fruit was sourced from the Eliphante block in Yavapai County. The blend is composed of 50% Syrah, 20% Garnacha, 16% Petite Sirah, 10% Mourvèdre, and 4% Malvasia.
