One of Argentina's flagship wines, the 2015 'Nicolás Catena Zapata' is composed of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Malbec. This outstanding red begins with inviting aromatics of dark berries, currants and plums, which come together with spices, violets, herbs and graphite that all develop beautifully in the glass. On this palate this is full-bodied and incredibly structured, with big muscular tannins that envelope the palate. It goes on to impress with this wonderful overall balance of fruit and acidity, alomg with an underliying mineral edge that all provides a sense of energy and lift through the finish. While this is nearly impossible to resist today, it is ultimately built to age and should go on to have a brilliant future ahead for years to come. A stunning effort from winemaker Alejandro Vigil.
