The 2017 Meursault Rouge is sourced from 30-year-old vines. Elegant and refined, this begins with pretty aromatics of raspberries and strawberries which are woven together with florals, herbs, forest floor, dried soil and crushed stones. On the palate this is light to medium-bodied with a lovely silky texture, and beautifully balanced with a wonderful combination of acidity and minerality that persists through the finish. This is a lovely wine that is displaying a fantastic fresh, bright character in its youth, but should also evolve nicely and continue to impress as it develops over the next decade.
