The 2017 Volany-Santenots is sourced from 33-year-old vines. This gorgoeus Pinot Noir begins with inviting aromatics of black raspberries and wild strawberries, which are woven together with florals, herbs, licorice, spices, and crushed stones that all take shape in the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied with a lovely round, silky texture, that is beautifully balanced with a wonderful combination of acidity and minerality while displaying wonderful finesse and purity through the finish. Overall this is a gorgoeus wine that is sensational today and should also have a brillaint future ahead with a drinking window that should span over a decade.
