Domaine de Beaurenard's Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is a blend of mainly Grenache, along with Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault along with small amounts of other varieties of the AOC. It opens with a pretty nose of raspberry, strawberry, dark cherry and pomegranate with secondary aromas of leather, and garrigue. It is full-bodied with beautiful velvety tannins and a deeply textured mouthfeel which is backed by a racy core of ripe dark fruits and spices. It continues to impress as it shows outstanding balance and concentration through the long, plush finish. While this is simply stunning now, it is also possesses the characteristics to age remarkably well for many years to come.
