The 2016 Rioja 'Crianza' was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels prior to bottling. It begins with inviting aromas of orange rind nuances along with shades of red currants and exotic spices that all take shape in the glass. The palate possesses a wonderful sense of freshness with a soft, medium-bodied texture as flavors of red fruits combine with orange rind and damp earth undertones. This is fantastic today, however it should continue to evolve nicely with some short-term cellaring.
