The 2018 'Le Chene Noir' Côtes du Rhône Villages from Camille Cayran opens to aromas of ripe black raspberries and dark plums, followed by crushed violets, spices, white pepper and dark chocolate nuances which all begin to take shape as it unwinds in the glass. This possesses a remarkable round, polished texture that ends with a velvety finish that lingers. This is an absolutely delicious Côtes du Rhône Villages that is drinking beautifully in its youth and should continue to impress as it evolves in bottle over the next few years.
