The McCrea Vineyard is located on the eastern bench of Sonoma Mountain, and it is another absolutely briliant release from Kistler in this vintage. This Chardonnay instantly impresses as it opens to a beautifully perfumed nose with seductive aromas of Meyer Lemon curd, toasted almond, stone fruits, followed by secondary nuances of apple, flint and white flowers. On the palate this possesses a silky and creamy texture, backed by a core of delicious flavors of citrus, sliced apples and white nectarine that resonate throughout. The finish is mouthwatering, with a fantastic combination of fresh acidity and lovely minerality that leaves a wonderful impression. This is a fantastic Chardonnay to approach now, or watch evolve over the course of the next decade.
