The 2019 ‘Marie de Magdala’ is made from 100% Grenache from a .7 hectare parcel of vines planted in clay and limestone soil and it is absolutely stunning. The fruit is de-stemmed and lightly crushed before pressing and aged on fine lees in sandstone jarres until early summer bottling. The result is a striking bottle of Rosé displays a beautiful peach-salmon color, followed by wonderful aromatics of white peaches, strawberries and melon, which are accented by nuances of saline minerals, dried lavender and even hints of flint that flash in and out. On the palate this is just as impressive showing a gorgeous round texture, with incredible overall finesse and balance all the way though the elegant finish. This is a simply brilliant bottle of Rosé that is utterly delicious today but also has the potential to age beautifully.
