The 2017 Nysa vineyard Pinot Noir from Nicolas-Jay spends 12 months in 50% new French oak and comes from own-rooted vines. One of the estate's more robust wines, the nose explodes with aromatics of ripe red raspberries, red currants and baked cherry pie with a cinnamon-vanilla crust. I could literally sit and enjoy the nose on this wine all day long. The palate is a treat in your mouth, with focused red berry, ripe peach and candied cherry flavors. The tannins, alcohol and fruit are in perfect balance allowing this wine to age for another decade. Only 94 cases made.
