Sourced from the iconic Wehlener Sonnenuhr site which offers perfect growing conditions growing Riesling, with its deep grey slate soil, steep slopes of up to 70 % gradient, and its optimal south-south-west exposure.The wine itself is succulent, offering stunning aromatics of white peaches, pineapple, citrus, honeysuckle, green tea, ginseng, candied ginger, jasmine blossom all coming together and lifting from the glass. The palate is simply stunning, rich, luscious and opulent, but beautifully balanced and focused, with a fresh ripe core of juicy mouthwatering fruit flavors that are framed by lovely acidity and underlying minerality. Complex and utterly delicious, the 2018 is absolutely stunning today, but should also age beautifully for years to come.
