The 2016 Ravera is a simply gorgeous showing in this vintage. Elegant and refined, this stunning Barolo slowly opens to pretty aromatics of strawberries and red cherries which are followed by mint, licorice, wet stones and lovely floral undertones, all taking shape. Impeccably structured and defined, this continues to impress on the palate as it displays remarkable overall balance and precision. The purity is striking, as it delivers beautiful flavors of red fruits through the finely textured, ultra-long finish that grips a firm hold. Overall, this is an incredible showing and certainly one of the most compelling wines from the vintage, however it will require a good deal of patience before it hits it stride.
