The 2018 Hyland Vineyard Pinot Noir is an absolutely magnificent wine from 00 Wines in this vintage. It begins with gorgeous aromatics of raspberries, cranberries and strawberries which are joined by fresh florals, dried spices, crushed gravel and smoke all take shape. The palate is refined and elegant, with fine tannins that frame the vibrant core of sour cherries and streaks of mineral. Balanced, precise and focused, this fascinating red displays excellent poise through the refined finish. This is a truly exceptional Pinot Noir that will have a tremendous future ahead, however patience will be required, as it will likely need at least a few more years of bottle age before it hits its stride.
