The 2018 La Pelle Sauvignon Blanc is an absolute knockout from winemaker Maayan Koschitzky. It opens with seductive aromas of candied lemon, white nectarine, lime zest and lychee, alongside, fresh green herbs, honeysuckle, crushed stone and green almond. The palate is dense and intensely mineral driven with flavors of ripe pear and quince, earth, almond, and citrus notes, with stone, lemon peel and white fruits lingering in the very long finish. Overall this is a complex, focused and beautifully structured Sauvignon Blanc that is delicious today and should continue to gain complexity over the next decade.
