Sourced from the Oakville Ranch Vineyard, which is situated on a rocky shelf 1,400 feet above the vally floor on the foothills of the Vaca Mountains and benefits from the cool breezes from the pacific and dry central valley air. The 2018 is an excllent release from Sojouen, it binstantly begins to impress with its inviting aromas of dark cherries and cassis, that are woven together with mocha, sweet baking spices and tobacco nuances. On the palate this possesses a full body, with a gorgeous round texture and beautifully polished tannins that are well-integrated through the finish. While this is absolutely delicious and accessible now, it should also go on to age extreamly well and have a wonderful future ahead.
