The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo opens to inviting aromas of ripe plums, cherries and hints of sweet red berries which are accented by exotic spices and herbs that fill the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a lovely soft, silky texture that gives way to flavors of plums and sweet berries that persist through the finish. This is very approachable now, but should also hold nicely for a few more years of bottle age.
